The Centre for Participation Book Launch

In 2012 UCLAN's The Centre for Participation hosted the second ICYRNet (International Childhood and Youth Research Network) conference which attracted over 200 academics, stakeholders and children and young people from all over the world. The event was hugely successful and has led to new collaborations across the globe. The conference team in Preston, which included PDC's director Dan Moxon,  continued working with the conference participants, including children and young people, to produce a new edited collection of research papers focused on the participation of children and young people in research.

We are delighted to announce the publication of this book: Participation, Citizenship and Intergenerational Relations in Children and Young People's Lives: Children and Adults in Conversation. Edited by Joanne Westwood, Cath Larkins, Dan Moxon, Yasmin Perry and Nigel Thomas from Palgrave Macmillan.

The Centre is hosting a launch event at UCLan at 6pm on 30th June 2014, open to both young people and adults. The event will be an informal opportunity to meet others, celebrate what we have achieved together and plan some new directions for continuing our intergenerational conversations about participation.  The book launch is free and refreshments are provided.  To reserve a place go to EventBrite here

The launch event will follow directly after The Centre's seminar on children’s participation in care and protection, held jointly with Lancashire Law School . All are invited.
